2010 12yrs Regional Trials Information

Date and Time Wednesday, 21 April 2010
Students are asked to be at the venue by 8:30am.
Trials commence at 9:00am and will conclude by 3:00pm.
Venue Wynnum JAFC
Kianawah Road, Wynnum West
Officials
Meeting
A meeting of all district officials will be held at 8:40am in front of the canteen.
Catering A canteen will operate for students during the trials.
Equipment Students will need to bring their own playing clothing and protection equipment.
They will wear a numbered district jersey.
Shade There is adequate shade at the venue.
Competitors Each district is invited to nominate one team of twenty players.
Cost The cost is $11,00 per student.
Each District Treasurer's school will be invoiced for this amount (NOT the Team Manager's school).  Money will not be accepted on the day.
Carnival

Each district to play each other once.

Prior to inter- district games: Each team will participate in a skills sessions.

As per MESSB policy.
Competition
Rules
As per AFLBJ guidelines.
Each game will consist of two 15 minute halves.
First Aid

All Team Managers are required to bring their own first aid kit.

Sports Medicine personnel will be available for the duration of the trial.

(The Sports Trainer will attend to injuries only and not general strapping)

Risk Management

Team managers are requested to monitor the health of each individual player throughout the carnival.

Team officials are required to supervise all student behaviour at all times.

Each player must provide a signed and dated medical consent form. This form is to be kept by district managers.

Trials commence at 9:45am.
A second meeting of district officials will be held at approx 1:30pm.
Venue Wynnum AFC
Catering A canteen will operate at the trial.
Equipment Each team is required to provide numbered jerseys for their players and balls for warm-up activities.
Students will need to supply their own personal playing and protection equipment.
Shade Their is adequate shade at the venue.
Competitors Each District is invited to nominate one team of twenty-five players.
Cost Cost per student is $12.00.  The District Manager's school will be invoiced for this amount.  Money will NOT be accepted by the Convenor on the day.
Umpires AFLQ development staff will be umpiring games.  However, teams will be required to supply boundary and goal umpires for the games they are not playing in.
Selection
Procedures
As per MESSB Policy, one teacher from each district may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel.  Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.
Competition Rules

As per AFL/BJAFL  rules

Game time  -  start and finish on bell.
First Aid Sports Medicine personnel will be available from the duration of the trial.
Risk Management The playing surface is approved for AFLQ competitions.  All posts will be sufficiently padded as per AFLQ policy.
