2010 Secondary 19yrs Girls Regional Trials Information

Date and Times	Thursday, 18 March 2010 commencing at 9:00am. Prior to these trials a meeting of students and parents will be held at 8:30am in the grandstand.
Venue	State Hockey Centre, Colmslie
Officials Meeting	A meeting of district officials will be held at 8:30am in the Field 1 tech bench.
Catering	Limited canteen facilities will be operating. Please consider bringing your own food and remember an adequate supply of water.
Equipment	Each team is required to supply a quality match ball. Students will need to supply their own personal playing and protective equipment. Goalies will need to bring their full kits.
Shade	There is adequate shade available at the field.
Competitors	Each district is invited to nominate one team of 16 players. Students attending are being selected to represent Met East at the State Schoolgirls tournament on Sat 29 May – Tues 1^st June 2010 at Keith Hunt Park, Labrador. Students selected must be available for the complete Tournament.
Cost	The cost is $26.00 per student. The District Manager's school will be invoiced for this amount. The Convenors will not accept money on the day.
Selection Procedures	As per MESSB Policy, one teacher from each district may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel. Please indicate this person’s name on the team nomination form. Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.
First Aid	Sports medicine personnel will be available for the duration of the carnival.
Risk Management	Shin pads and mouth guards must be worn.

2010 Primary Boys and Girls Regional Trials Information

Date and Times	Wednesday, 28 April 2010 Girls: 9:00am to 2:30pm Boys: 12:30pm to 2:30pm
Venue	State Hockey Centre, Colmslie
Officials Meeting	A meeting of girls’ team officials will be held at 8.30am Players and parent meeting for girls will be held at 8.30 under the turf shelter. The boys will follow a similar procedure at 12 noon. It is expected that each District should have an official/teacher representative if students are nominating and in attendance from their District.
Catering	Limited catering facilities will be available from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
Equipment	Students will need to provide all personal playing and protection equipment; goalies need full kit. Teams will need to provide a bag of balls for warm-up.
Shade	There is adequate shade at the venue.
Competitors	Each player is required to wear a white t-shirt and bring along a dark colour (eg. black/navy) shirt. All players should also bring a jacket, hat and apply sunscreen. As a safety concern for all players it is suggested all players should have a minimum level of 11A or 11B club experience.
Cost	Girls: $20.00 per student. Boys: $10.00 per student. This money should be collected by a district official. The District Secretary's school will be invoiced for the amount.
Nomination Procedures	*STUDENTS* should go through the following procedure in order to be eligible to participate in the trials. 1. Complete the Nomination, Medical, Parent Consent and Student Detail Forms. 2. Have the Nomination Form approved by their Principal. 3. Give Nomination Form to School or District convenor (if appropriate). 4. Students must bring the other forms with them on the trial day (28 April). School or district convenors should send nominations to reach Sue Pavish by 4:00pm on Wednesday, 21 April 2010.
First Aid	Sports medicine personnel will be in attendance throughout the carnival. Ice will be available.
Umpires	Each district is asked to nominate an adult volunteer umpire to accompany the team.
State Carnival	Successful players will represent the Met East hockey teams to compete at the Boys & Girls State Titles in Toowoomba from the 16^th – 19^th June 2010. Please allow time at the end for a team meeting. Players standing for selection must be available for the complete State Championship.
Risk Management	Players must wear appropriate personal safety gear including mouthguards and shin guards. Goal keepers must provide their own equipment and padding. Risk assessment of the fields to be undertaken before trials.

Competitors	Each District is invited to nominate one team of up to 14 players. NO PLAYER NOMINATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED DIRECTLY THROUGH THE CONVENOR – ALL PLAYERS MUST NOMINATE THROUGH THEIR RESPECTIVE DISTRICTS.
Cost	Cost per student is $27.00. The District Manager's school will be invoiced for this amount. Money will NOT be accepted by the Convenor on the day.
