Primary Sport

Four districts are involved in regional sport at the primary level.  These districts are Logan, Lytton, Mount Gravatt and Redland.

Students, aged 10 years to 12 years, from these districts are eligible for selection in the following team sports in the year 201
2:

Australian Football (12 yrs & Under)
Basketball (Boys 12 yrs & Under)          Basketball (Girls 12 yrs & Under)
Cricket (Boys 12 yrs & Under)          Cricket (Girls 12 yrs & Under)
Football (Boys 12 years & Under)          Football (Girls 12 years & Under)
Hockey (Boys 12 yrs & Under)          Hockey (Girls 12 yrs & Under)
Netball (Girls 11 yrs & Under)          Netball (Girls 12 yrs & Under)
Rugby League (Boys 11 yrs & Under)          Rugby League (Boys 12 yrs & Under)
Rugby Union (12yrs & Under)
Softball (Boys 12 yrs & Under)          Softball (Girls 12 yrs & Under)
Tennis (Boys 12 yrs & Under)          Tennis (Girls 12 yrs & Under)
Touch (Boys 12 yrs & Under)          Touch (Girls 12 yrs & Under).

Regional Australian Football, Rugby League and Rugby Union teams are accompanied to state carnivals by a manager, a coach and a trainer.  Tennis teams are accompanied by managers only.

Students, aged 10 years to 12 years, from these districts are eligible for selection in the following individual sports in 2012:

Aquathlon (Boys 12 yrs & Under)          Aquathlon (Girls 12 yrs & Under)
Cross Country (Boys 12 yrs & Under)          Cross Country (Girls 12 yrs & Under)
Golf (Boys 12 yrs & Under)          Golf (Girls 12 yrs & Under)
Swimming (Boys 12 yrs & Under)          Swimming (Girls 12 yrs & Under)
Track & Field (Boys 12 yrs & Under)          Track & Field (Girls 12 yrs & Under).

Regional Aquathlon, Cross Country, Golf, Swimming and Track and Field teams are accompanied to state carnivals by managers only.

Students with a disability, aged 10 - 12 years, are invited to compete in Cross Country, Swimming and Track and Field.

Teams containing students with a disability are accompanied by managers with the appropriate skills.

Students who reach 13 years of age during or before Year 7
are eligible to represent Metropolitan East Region in any
of the regional teams (both team sports and individual sports)
that are available for students of that age
from the secondary sector.

Metropolitan East Primary Sport is made up of four districts covering some one hundred and eighteen schools.  Contact persons in the districts are the district secretaries who are listed below.  Almost all of these secretaries are full-time teachers so they can only be reached during non-teaching hours.
