Date and Time Thursday, 25 March 2010
There will be a meeting of district officials at 8:15am.
Trials commence at 8:45am.
Venue Sunnybank Rugby Union Club
Catering A canteen will operate at the trial.
Students are free to bring their own food and drink.
Equipment Each team is required to supply a quality match ball and a full set of numbered jerseys.
Students will need to supply their own personal playing equipment.
Shade There is adequate shade at the field but teams should consider bringing their own team shade area.
Competitors

Each District is invited to nominate one team of 22 players.  If Districts have any variation to this number they should contact the convenor.

NB Under ARU age eligibility guidelines, there is a 2 Year window. ie, there cannot be 2 years age difference between players on the same field. eg, 16 and 18 year olds .  Exemptions can only be made after notifying the Regional Convenor.

Cost The cost is $9.00 per student.  The District Manager's school will be invoiced for this amount.  Money will not be accepted on the day.
Unpires QRU Development Officers will be controlling the games.
Trials Format Early rounds of Round –robin games of approx 25 min duration.  Then trials of selected teams will follow, eg, Probables v Possibles

Procedures
As per MESSB policy.
First Aid

All Team Managers should bring their own first aid kit

AND  Sports Medicine personnel will be available from the duration of the trial.
Alternate Date

In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be held on 01/04/2010.  All other arrangements will remain the same.

Times Trials commence at 8:45am.
Officials Meeting A meeting of team officials will be held at 8:00am in the Brenan Pavilion beside the Main Oval.
Catering A canteen will operate during the trials;  students may bring their own food and drink if they prefer.
Equipment

Each team is required to supply match balls and a full set of numbered jerseys which correlate with an accurate team list for the selectors.

Players provide the playing strip as directed by their Districts / Schools.

Competitors Each District / School is invited to nominate one team of 22 players.
Cost Each District / School is required to pay a levy of $8.00 per student.
The District Manager’s school will be invoiced for this amount.  Money will not be accepted on the day.
Referees QRRA referees will be appointed as well as junior ref / touch judges.
Carnival Format

Competition Draw:  2 Pools of Teams playing 3 reduced-time games of 15- 20 mins with a final trial played in a 3 x 10-15 min periods.

Selection procedures As per MESSB Policy, one teacher from each district may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel.  Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.
First Aid

Sports Medicine personnel will be available for the duration of the trial.
