Secondary Sport

 

Six districts are involved in regional sport at the secondary level.  These districts are Bayside, Composite, Gateway, Logan, South and Riverside.

Students, aged 13 years to 19 years, from these districts are eligible for selection in the following team sports in the year 2010:

Australian Football (Boys 15 years & Under)
Baseball (Boys 18 years & Under)
Baseball (Boys 14 years & Under)
Basketball (Boys 18 years & Under)          Basketball (Girls 18 years & Under)
Basketball (Boys 15 years & Under)          Basketball (Girls 15 years & Under)
Cricket (Boys 19 years & Under)
Cricket (Boys 14 years & Under)
Football (Boys 19 years & Under)          Football (Girls 19 years & Under)
Football (Boys 15 years & Under)          Football (Girls 15 years & Under)
Hockey (Boys 19 years & Under)          Hockey (Girls 19 years & Under)
Netball (Girls 19 years & Under)
Netball (Girls 15 years & Under)
Rugby League (Boys 18 years & Under)

Regional Australian Football, Rugby League and Rugby Union teams are accompanied to state carnivals by a manager, a coach and a trainer.  All other teams above are accompanied by a manager and a coach.

Students, aged 13 years to 19 years, from these districts are eligible for selection in the following individual sports in 2010:

Students competing in the individual sports above are accompanied to state carnivals by managers only.

Students with a disability, aged 13 to 19 years, are invited to compete in Cross Country, Swimming and Track and Field.

Teams containing students with a disability are accompanied by managers with the appropriate skills.

How to contact your district

Metropolitan East Secondary Sport is made up of six districts covering some fifty schools.  Contact persons in the districts are the district secretaries who are listed below.  Almost all of these secretaries are full-time teachers so they can only be reached during non-teaching hours.
