Date and Times Due to ongoing inclement weather the Met East touch trials set down for Monday 8 March have again been postponed until Tuesday 16 March.
All teams are requested to arrive at the grounds no later than 8:15am.
Games begin at 9:00am.
Age Eligibility The age eligibility for the "Open" division has been changed and is now in accordance with the age eligibility for the State Championships.
There are two age divisions that will operate:
18 years and under as at 31 December 2010
15 years and under as at 31 December 2010.
Referees Every effort will be made to supply official referees;  however, teacher/coaches should be prepared to assist with refereeing duties should a shortage of official referees occur.
Student
Supervision
ALL district teams must be accompanied by a teacher who will be responsible for them.
Players who wish to trial but do not have a team must have been registered by their district by 25 February 2010.
All registered players will require the relevant permission forms to be completed by the teacher/coach who registers them.
Rules All games shall be 25 minutes only with no half time.  There will be no turn around and the team winning the toss shall choose the direction they will run for the entire 25 minutes.
Coaches should be aware of the current rules of Touch (TFA edition 7).  Sub boxes will be in use.  Substitutions must be made from the sub box only.  Teams are to be a maximum of 14 players.
All disputes will be adjudicated on by the Regional Convenor.
The winn
ing district shall be the team with the most game points.  Ties will be split in the following manner:  game result — differences — percentages — drop off.
Winning teams and runners up will receive medallions.
Players who are sent from the field (not a period of time) shall show cause why they are not prevented from further participation an disregarded in selections.
Team Levy All teams shall pay a levy of $13.00 per player.
Team
Documentation
All District Manager / Coaches are required to collate the trial documentation and have it available for the Regional Convenor.  Copies of the student forms are available for download below.
Team Uniforms Team players must wear easily identifiable uniforms and keep the same number throughout the trials.
Selections Players selected to represent Metropolitan East must commit to being available for the entire state championship.  Players unable to make such a commitment cannot be considered for selection.

Teacher/Coaches wishing to be involved in selections must attend the Selectors Briefing at 8:00am.  Possibles v Probables games will be conducted.  The Convenor shall be responsible for the allocation of selectors and the conduct of all selections.  The Regional Coach shall chair all deliberations.
Representative Teams All teams selected will be required to attend the State Championships as follows:
18s Boys - Mount Isa from 7 May to 9 May 2010
18s Girls - Chinchilla from 7 May to 8 May 2010
15s Boys and Girls - Cairns at a date to be advised
Sun Safety Pleas ensure that adequate measures are adopted for the day.
First Aid Qualified first aid personnel will be in attendance;  however, all strapping and other specific requirements are the responsibility of the individual.
Please note that there is no personal injury insurance cover, and all participants should be aware that this is their responsibility.
Ice Limited ice will be available at a cost to all teams.
Canteen A limited canteen shall be in operation during the day.  All teams should ensure that they have catered for their own lunches.

8:20amskills development - this will be watched by selectors to see some basic skills and will work as a warm up for teams playing 1st session)

Catering A canteen will operate during the trials.
Equipment Game balls will be provided.
Teams must be dressed in team uniforms.
Personal playing equipment is the responsibility of the player.
Shade

Shade will be provided for all districts (6m x 3m).  If teams require more shade they will need to provide it.

Competitors Each District is invited to nominate one boys team of 12 players and one girls team of 12 players.
Selection
Procedures
As per MESSB Policy, one teacher from each district may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel.  Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.
Cost Each district team is required to pay a levy of $195.00.  The district managers' schools will be invoiced for this amount.  No money will be accepted on the day.
Umpires

Where possible, Association Umpires or Cavendish Road State High School Touch Excellence Students will be used for each game.  However, team officials may be called upon to assist in umpiring when their own team is not playing.

Carnival Format A round robin with 3 points for a win, 2 for a draw, 1 for a loss will be used to determine finalists.  If needed, for and against will be used to determine rankings.
Competition Rules Games will be 25 min, with a 2 min half time.  All teams will have at least 15 min between games.  The grand final will include a drop off if required (after a 5 min break).
First Aid Sports Medicine personnel will be available from the duration of the trial.
